From the Fall of 2013 to the Winter of 2020, Azzaro worked at some level with the students of Ypsilanti Community Schools in Ypsilanti, Michigan. At first, running an after school photography program through Eastern Michigan University’s Bright Futures program, and then as an employee of the district. In the Fall of 2017, he became the high school photography teacher and built the program from the ground up. It was called The Learning Studio. The classes focused on the fundamentals of photography, as well as having discussions on race, perception, and current events. However, the COVID-19 pandemic brought it to an end. The photos included here are just a few of the thousands created by the students.
