The trunks of trees in public settings are painted in white latex paint, which causes no harm to the tree, about six feet from the ground. In addition, a single branch is painted as well. The whiteness reflects the skin of those who forced the trees to become instruments of death. Each tree has a handwritten proclamation.

"The hoops I've put you through, yet think myself superior."

"The hoops I've put you through, yet question your protests."

"The hoops I've put you through, yet call you the violent one."
