NICK AZZARO

The Department of Educational Activity and Development is an ongoing series of site—and time-specific images featuring an open-face school desk with an upside-down school chair on top. It is a response to the current direction of public education in the United States.

 

This work was created during the self-initiated and directed Disposition Residency. This residency has two rules: I can utilize anything in the warehouse before it sells, and all creations must occur in the warehouse or within a 500-foot radius outside of it. I am also allowed to bring in items that did not originate at the warehouse.
